I loved reading the book and enjoyed the whole flow of time and warmth of character growth. It is wonderful tobe taken back to that remarkable, bitter sweet time in our country's(and my) history, to revisit then pristine California locations, and to re-experience with the characters the wide range of senses awakened by their first introduction to their "California." The author has succeeded in gently unrolling a vibrantly colored tapestry telling the story about key innocents who danced over lines of right and wrong searching for one truth, understanding, and love, only to mature, reflect on the results of their past actions, and inescapably reach a new, deeper truth, understanding, and love.

The author's sly subtle wit, her insider's knowledge of the hippie days in Northern California, and her researches into the wine industry all contribute to this nostalgic and affectionate look back. I was fascinated to see how the original cast of characters moved from LSD and the War in VietNam to stable, but never staid, middle age. An engaging, suspenseful and romantic read.
Nice read when you want something light and easy. I enjoyed it, and it bought back memory's of my teenage years.
If you are looking for some sweet relief from life, fall into Allie's world for a few hours. It was like a mini vacation. A delightful blast from the past.
This is a good debut novel . The story line is good, and I enjoyed the modern history aspect of the novel. I would love to read this with a little more detail, especially the character development. A good read.
Remembering Poppy Mountain takes a step back into the 60’s to unravel the mystery of Allie Tabor’s origins. In the search for her birth mother, Allie grapples with her true feelings and clarifies her values, leading to decisions that will take her life along a completely different course. Believable characters and a sense of authenticity in the details of the setting provide readers a delightful excursion into that era of searching and change.
Like the lyric from a Katy Perry song [[ASINB008220AVW Katy Perry The Movie Part of Me, this story, from a first time fiction writer,opens the memory pores of the mind to a memorialized 60's life style, that encouraged contemplation, rather than confrontation. The writer's management of time past to time present is subtle and unobtrusive. There is much to applaud in this debut publication. One waits in anticipation of further offerings.
As I approach my 80th birthday I delight in recalling significant chapters of my life - not living in the past, but honoring it. I found Poppy Mountain to be an engaging journey back to a complex time in our culture. One that help shaped me as it did our whole society. Thanks to Ms. Logan for giving us this opportunity the look back at that time, and for the lovely and compelling arch of a story in the here and now. It was very moving.
